知らなかったタガログ語の丁寧表現(Mangyaring, 三人称)

最近知ったタガログ語にあったそんな丁寧表現。最近まで知りませんでした。

なるものがあったのですが、その中の一つに以下の表現がありました。

残業をお願いします。

Mangyaring magtrabaho nang overtime.

mangyariは “起こる” という意味の動詞ですが、manyaring～という文章で、お願いしますという意味になるそうです。

公共放送、飛行機のアナウンスで使われるようなかしこまった表現らしいです。

a. Mangyaring ～. ex. Mangyaring maupo habang lumilipat.

Is actually very polite and we do not normally use it in everyday conversation. It is used more for professional situation like getting instructions from a flight attendant before the plane takes off, or maybe some announcement you hear on public places like malls, etc.

教科書のダイアログに以下のようなものありました。”何をお探しですか？”と聞いているだけのようですが、moではなくて、ninyoでもなくて、nilaになってます。

タガログ語の丁寧表現で、二人称単数→複数形 になるのは知っていましたが、さらに三人称になることがあるようです。

At the third level, which is used when addressing a dignitary, Tagalog speakers switch to the third person plural of the pronouns, as in, Kamusta po sila? (How are they?) — if you are addressing a senior government official, for example. It is similar to English speakers addressing royalty: How is His Majesty today?

Sila, they, is also often used to address customers and high-ranking officials. It is also used when asking an adult stranger who he or she is.
